Repairing Leather Couch Scratches

Repairing leather couch scratches. Once clean leave the area to dry naturally for approximately 5 10 minutes. As with all quality leather repairs and restorations the first step is to ensure the area is free from dirt and contaminants. Of course you ve thought about removing those scratches before but you re simply too busy most of the time and fixing the sofa is one of the last things on your mind. This brings the leather s dye back to the surface and may conceal very minor.
Rubbing alcohol dries quickly. You only need a couple of things and there. The leather dye will cover the damaged area with colour masking any discolouration from the scratches. Let the area sit for about 10 minutes and it should be dry.
Just the idea can be tiring. The balm will put the color back into the scratches blending them in with the rest of the sofa but it won t repair the roughness it will just disguise them. Then use a sponge to spread a thin layer of glue onto the leather. Set your blow dryer to warm and heat up the scratched leather while gently massaging the mark with your hand.
To do this take the alcohol cleaner and apply to a cloth both included in the complete leather repair kit then wipe the area down thoroughly. Then take the sponge and rub the leather dye into the damaged area you want the die to soak into the scratches. Rub a cotton swab with the oil to an inconspicuous area of the leather upholstery. Take a clean cloth and dip it in rubbing alcohol then lightly buff the scratched area.
Once dry apply a thin later of leather conditioner onto the sofa and work it in a little of this oil like substance goes a long way. For the best results apply at least 7 layers of glue to the scratched leather. A leather sofa full of scratches simply doesn t look very nice. Luckily it turns out it s not really that difficult or time consuming.
